What I'm actually designing is the light around your face.
"A smile is energy. When I look at a new patient, I'm reading their face the way you'd read a heat map — where does the eye land first? Where is balance lost? Where is light being absorbed when it should be reflected?"
The teeth are one variable in a much larger equation. Lip position, facial thirds, the midline, gingival architecture, how the whole composition reads in motion — not just in a photograph. Smile design, done properly, is the art of bringing the face back into balance. When the proportions are right, nothing shouts. Everything simply fits.
The result should never look "done." It should look like you — just more rested, more composed, more at ease with yourself. People notice the change without being able to name it. That's the goal.
Teeth that are too white break the heat map. Teeth that are too uniform look manufactured. Teeth that are too long dominate the face instead of completing it. Real beauty in a smile comes from integration — the right amount of tooth, in the right position, catching light in the right way for your specific face.

My preferred starting point for smile design that needs sculpting rather than replacing. I add, refine, and shape — no drilling, no removal of healthy structure. Additive dentistry: pure artistry in a single visit, and completely reversible. For patients where the canvas is good and the geometry needs correction, composite bonding achieves results most people assume require veneers.
