Why we have this policy

Missed and late-cancelled appointments mean other patients wait longer for care. This policy helps us keep appointments available for everyone.

Cancelling or moving an appointment

Please give us at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move an appointment. Cancellations need to be made by phone on 01642 939 457. We can't accept cancellations by email or by replying to reminder messages, as these come from an unmonitored system.

Short-notice cancellations

A short-notice cancellation is one made less than 48 hours before your appointment. You can make up to two short-notice cancellations in any 12-month period.

• NHS patients who cancel at short notice more than twice may be removed from our NHS patient list and may not be offered further NHS appointments.
• Private patients who have made two short-notice cancellations will need to pay their booking fee again before booking further appointments.

Missed appointments

If you miss an appointment without letting us know, it will be treated as a missed appointment. This may mean losing your booking fee or being unable to book further appointments.
